Estancia La Sofia - Boutique Hotel & Polo Ranch

Caminos a mejorar, imposible ir con auto ppio los días de lluvia, y dependes 100% de los anfitriones para movilizarte. Las habitaciones no son feas pero algunas están un poco descuidadas y con olor a humedad. Muy buena atención y comida, aunque no volvería. No me cerro la relación precio-calidad.

Estancia La Sofía es un sueño. En San Andrés de Giles, a sólo 30 minutos de San Antonio de Areco, es un lugar perfecto para descansar y leer un buen libro en alguna de las galerías con vista al parque. Es atendida por sus dueños, Marcos y Silke, lo que le da ese toque hogareño y personalizado. Incluye las 4 comidas, todas ellas exquisitas. Fuimos por una sola noche y nos quedamos con ganas de quedarnos más tiempo. Sin duda volveremos.

Just returned from an overnight stay at La Sofia and wish it could have been longer. Not being a horse person, I wasn't sure what to expect. What I experienced was incredible natural beauty (especially the bird life - absolutely everywhere!), the crackle of a log fire, the warmest of welcomes and delicious food. You don't need to be a horse expert to appreciate the incredible skill of Marcos galloping at high speed and whacking a ball with a stick. An all round wonderful experience.

My non-horsey husband and I have just had an amazing stay at Estancia La Sofia. Situated in a beautiful location with great views and surrounded by wildlife. The villa was full of traditional charm with extraordinary views over the garden and polo field in the distance. Large very comfortable bed with adjoining bathroom an open fire in the sitting room and dining inside and out. The food was delicious, BBQ meat, salad and bread for lunch. Very yummy cakes with tea and coffee in the afternoon and if you have space left, a delicious 3 course meal in the evening. The service was polite and very friendly. Our hosts Silke and Marcos were so welcoming, answering our questions about polo and Argentina in general....and all this with horses and polo!! After a relaxing hack through the fields I had my first introduction to polo. Marcos was very patient and I loved hearing the 'clonk' of the stick on ball when I got the right spot!This is a real treat. Anyone considering staying should go ahead and book. We had a wonderful time.

En el corazón de San Andrés de Giles, La Sofia ofrece a los huéspedes alojamiento con 4 comidas incluidas (desayuno, almuerzo, merienda y cena). La comida casera es deliciosa y la atención de sus dueños hace la diferencia. También ofrece la experiencia de montar sus caballos y disfrutar la piscina al aire libre.

Our stay was absolutely magical. The place is so charming and feels like a friend’s country house. The chef is incredible and you feel as if you have stumbled upon a wonderful part of Argentinian life. The horses are great to ride for all levels and we (both occasional riders) really enjoyed the polo lesson too. I was skeptical about learning polo since I didn’t think it would be rewarding as a beginner but it was so so much fun. If you are there during a polo match that’s a lovely experience and the pool is great too. A really peaceful oasis, with roaring fires in the evening when it is cold, and Al fresco dining when it is sunny. The hotel only sleeps a small number of guests so is truly boutique and we lived getting to know the other guests as well. Would love to revisit if I am back in Argentina.
